Credit Analyst - Auto Finance Company

Southern Auto Finance Company - SAFCo is currently is search of a qualified candidate for the position of Credit Analyst for our Houston, Texas location. If you have experience in the auto finance industry with buying paper, and enjoy working in a fast paced environment then SAFCo would like to hear from you.Position Summary - This person would be responsible for understanding and supporting credit policies, as well as prioritizing deals, reviewing other team member's work for accuracy, and assisting them with duties to make decisions on deals as assigned by leadership.Duties and Responsibilities: Verifies information presented by applicant/dealer as needed by communicating with appropriate dealership employees and applicant references. Accurately scores applications according to SAFCo policies and guidelines. Conducts pre-interviews with potential customers and decisions deals based on information presented. Decisions/buys deals according to SAFCo policies and guidelines. Oversees pre-underwriting processes and directs other branch team members as to what additional information, action, and/or reports are needed. Delegates work to branch team members as needed and works with them to accomplish branch goals and projects. Understands and supports credit policies and is able to sort out/prioritize deals. Works with the corporate Titles Supervisor to resolve deliquient/problem vehicles titles and liens as directed. Reviews collection reports and executes action plans as directed by leadership. Performs other duties as assigned.Jobs skills and requirements: High School diploma/GED 3 to 5 years of auto finance experience Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to utilize software or technical applications and systems at an intermediate level. Ex: Paradata system, credit reporting software, loan decision software and MS Office. Ability to understand and carry out verbal or written instructions and deal with problems involving customers or dealers.
