In this role you will work with other engineers and implementation teams to build, test, and deliver the products, enhancements, and technologies that drive PreCash. You will analyze, design, develop and test new and existing database applications to meet the market requirements. The right candidate will have excellent communications skills, be a self starter, and hold a strong sense of ownership and commitment to your role on a team.

 

The major responsibilities and essential functions of this job include:

Ø Collaborating with other engineers and architects to design new and modify existing components of PreCash applications

Ø Designing, developing, and testing Oracle objects such as packages, tables, procedures, views, materialized views, triggers, and deployment scripts for high-performance transactional, reporting, and batch applications

Ø Ensuring designs are faithful to requirements and the final results are faithful to designs

Ø Establishing and maintaining an holistic awareness of the PreCash database environment

Ø Coordinating with other engineers to evolve, employ, and enforce PreCash architecture standards and guidelines

Ø Performing functional analysis and providing work estimates for proposed changes

Ø Writing clear technical design specifications

Ø Providing performance tuning and capacity planning recommendations and modifications in response to both strategic and near-term needs

Ø Learning and applying new strategies and industry practices as they relate to database and application design

Ø Building and maintaining productive working relationships with the rest of the PreCash team, learning and mentoring whenever possible

 

The right candidate should have the following skills and experience:

Ø 2+ years software development experience along with Oracle database, SQL and PL/SQL experience

Ø Developing Oracle database objects – stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, and leveraging built-in Oracle packages

Ø Writing SQL optimized for performance

Ø Data modeling

Ø Managing concurrent development assignments

Ø Excellent communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills, self starter

Ø Ability to learn new technologies and business concepts quickly

Ø Able to actively participate in cross-functional teams formed to quickly resolve an issue or deliver a project

Ø Familiarity with the system development life cycle is a must and agile development processes is a plus

 

The technologies you will work with or near are: Unix, Linux, Oracle, JAVA, XML, and PERL.

 

PreCash has been processing payments using its patented method since 1999 by connecting and serving three customer bases: consumers who seek to make in-person payments to billers (wireless, cable, satellite, utilities…), billers seeking to accept and post payments from their consumers, and retail locations that accept these in-person payments and process them via PreCash. PreCash has built an extensive in-person payment network partnering with the foremost billers and retailers using unique methods and models that distinguishes itself in the marketplace.  PreCash also leverages its own payment network to provide a line of financial tools to the “unbanked” consumer.  PreCash continues to pave its own path in its creative product development and marketing approaches and this role will contribute to the technology infrastructure upon which that product stands.
