The Database Warehouse Developer is required to work independently and as a team member.  Operating under general supervision, the Database Warehouse Developer evaluates, designs, implements and maintains the data warehouse.  In addition, the DB Warehouse Developer will assist in the preprocessing of data to support data analysis.  The DB Warehouse Developer must adhere to a typical development life cycle; analyzing, designing, implementing and testing solutions to requirements. Developers must understand the Business, as well as the technology and the processes used to support it. Duties & Responsibilities 1. Define and develop data warehousing strategy. 2. Participate in, and contribute to, business analysis and data warehouse requirements definition 3. Design, development and implement applications for data warehouse, data marts, reporting and cubes 4. Design and develop extraction/transformation/loading (ETL) and other data movement/manipulation processes 5. Assist in the assessment and analysis of data quality 6. SQL programming, coding stored procedures and packages in PL/SQL 7. Assists with complex query development 8. Assist in database design and normalization procedures. 9. Work with Entity-Relationship modeling software (e.g., ER/Studio) 10. Problem solve any issues that occur with new implementations as well as the current code base. 11. Take direction from the database manager as well as senior members of the team 12. Works with Quality Control to implement processes and procedures to tune code before implementing into production. 13. Performance tuning of SQL queries 14. Performs other related duties as assigned. Technical Skills - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required or comparable experience - 4+ years related experience with at least 2+ years of experience in database design and development.  - Data warehouse experience essential - Database modeling and design experience using graphical tools - Expertise in Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL - Experienced with Unix environment, and shell scripting - Experienced with Perl and Java. - Strong technical ability in Excel - MySQL experience desirable - Strong query optimization skills. - Experience as a database administer desirable. - Experience with analytical packages desirable, e.g. Matlab, Statistica.
