Department Leader - Compliance

Responsibilities The Department Leader for Capital Markets and Operations Compliance is responsible for overseeing the firm's compliance programs and functions relating to capital markets and operations activities of the firm. This individual will partner with the various business units to identify risks, interpret and apply new and existing rules and regulations, and integrate legal/regulatory compliance requirements into all capital markets and operations processes. This individual will develop, lead and manage a dynamic team of Compliance professionals responsible for overseeing the establishment, implementation, monitoring and enforcement of the firm's written policies and supervisory procedures in the following areas: equity and fixed income trading, investment banking, syndicate, research, customer loans, trade operations, trade reporting and other operational functions. Requirements -- 8+ years of experience in the securities industry; extensive capital markets experience required; leadership experience preferred; compliance experience preferred.-- Strong leader capable of managing and motivating staff.-- Superior analytical, problem-solving and communications skills.-- Ability to analyze complex situations, develop solutions and provide proactive advice to firm associates and business leaders.-- Self-starter and team player with excellent interpersonal, leadership and conflict-management skills.-- Bachelors degree required; a JD or MBA preferred.-- Series 7 and 63 required; Series 9, 10 and 24 required within 9 months of hire.
