Development DBA

As an Oracle Development Database Administrator you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining real-time mission critical and decision support Oracle databases in a highly available heterogeneous environment that supports applications and users for one or more lines of business. Our enterprise encompasses Oracle 10g databases on a Linux platform.Additionally, your role will entail architecting, configuring, installing and upgrading Oracle server software. You will also collaborate with application and database developers to deploy code releases to test & production databases and perform operational monitoring activities thus ensuring a stable database environment capable of meeting ongoing business needs. Essential Functions Maintains and supports Oracle databases and applications in a real-time trading environment for one or more line of businessesTroubleshoots, resolves and documents production problemsInstalls and configures Oracle server software and related productsWorks with application & database developers on process design & physical database structureDesign, develop, and support Oracle database solutions for real-time critical database applicationsInvolvement in Full Life Cycle developmentPerform system tuning, performance monitoring and database maintenance to optimize database performanceDeploys database code releases to test & production databasesInteracts with systems administrators, application developers, database administrators and tradersActs as liaison between the enterprise database administrators and the line of business to promote the use of standards and best practices Required/Preferred Qualifications Minimum of six (6) years of recent hands-on experience with Oracle Database Administration & Development requiredThorough understanding of Oracle relational databases requiredStrong Oracle SQL, PL/SQL & Tuning experience a mustProcess design experience necessary (Shell scripts, Perl, etc.)Thorough understanding of at least one flavor of UNIX required; Linux preferred Must understand of Logical and Physical modeling concepts; hands on knowledge of ERwin preferred Experience with Replication and Streams AQ requiredExperience with tools like OEM, TOAD and Oracle diagnostics packs necessaryExperience with Oracle 10g a mustExperience with structured software development preferredData warehouses and/or Business Intelligence architecture experience a plusKnowledge of new database technologies a plusUnderstanding of Object-Oriented development a plus Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and to work well under pressure Financial services or market knowledge a plusMust enjoy working in a fast-paced teamwork environment and dealing with a variety of people * Apply Salary/Benefits At SIG, our employees are our most valued assets.
