For more information about Fannie Mae and our career opportunities, please visit www.fanniemae.com Plan, conduct and manage economic analyses on the U.S. housing and mortgage markets to provide for Sr. management information and insights on trends and choices that will affect Fannie Mae’s business performance.  Manage housing and real estate finance research projects from concept through reporting including description of business implications and implementation strategies for business leaders. Manage analysts responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and modeling housing and mortgage market trends and determining how these trends affect Fannie Mae’s primary lines of business.  Manage the timely production of high quality recurring reports and economic forecasts related to the company’s business activity and the U.S. housing and mortgage markets as well as alternative forecasts and scenarios.  Manage the timely production of valuable ad hoc analyses related to key housing and mortgage market issues for Sr. management and internal business units.  Independently identify key issues of interest/importance to the company and manage the resulting investigation and analysis. Represent the Business Strategy Group and make meaningful contributions to cross-functional teams set up to address critical issues for the company. 7 to 10 years experience in economic forecasting/analysis, with at least 2 years concentrating in the housing/mortgage markets, at a top financial services, capital markets, insurance or a similar financial services institution with a demonstrated career progression and proven track record of success in the industry. Significant experience in application of alternative econometric model types and modeling strategies. Significant experience in presenting complex economic analyses to business leaders and non-economist audiences in ways that are understandable and thought-provoking. Broad knowledge of the housing and real estate finance sectors and financial institutions serving them within the U.S. economy, their microeconomic foundations and their macroeconomic linkages. Strong data management background. 5 or more years in a leadership or management role with demonstrated experience in staff management, leadership, and team building. PhD in Economics strongly preferred. COMPENSATIONFannie Mae’s compensation and benefits package is very competitive.
