Director, Association Relations

The Director, Association Relations is responsible for the implementation and strategic growth of CME Group's global association strategy with special focus on developing and streamlining company-wide relationships with professional and industry associations. Although located in Chicago, Illinois, this individual will work closely with senior management, Marketing, Products & Services, Legal and Regulatory and other departments to ensure resources, priorities, and objectives of association strategy are aligned with the greater CME Group corporate initiatives. Identify, develop and maintain association participation and prioritization across organization Work with and identify external association targets to ensure CME Group messaging and business goals are incorporated into organizations with which we decide to maintain key relationshipsConduct cross-functional annual review of partnerships to identify required adjustment or eliminationDevelop integrated marketing and education plans related to key associationsCoordinate integration of association messaging in product-specific marketing and corporate communicationWork with CME Group Education department to identify, prepare and facilitate subject matter experts at conferencesDevelop, coordinate and execute related association events and conferencesMaintain and oversee all aspects of annual association membership and event budgetingEnsure CME Group maintains consistent and appropriate leadership representation within key associations

Requirements

5-10 years of association relationship management experience with accountability for delivering complex cross functional initiativesFinancial services industry knowledge and experience requiredB.A./B.S.MBA or pursuit of an MBA, a plusConsistent ability to develop and deliver against strategic initiatives in fast-paced environmentExcellent leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and gain consensus with multiple constituencies at all levelsExcellent motivational and interpersonal skills requiredStrong, concise and highly effective communication skills
