Director of Business Intelligence (BI)

Job Description--

·  There is a heavy emphasis on Business Development around the Business Intelligence space – identifying new clients and the successful close of BI project work. 

·  Initiation and management of a book of BI projects

·  This individual will also be tasked to create and manage the Business Intelligence planning and implementation.  They will work with the Applications group in developing all solutions and timelines.  Other responsibilities related to this position include:

·  Design, configure and deploy BI tools and applications.

·  Function as hands-on BI/DW Architect and work with other members of the IT and business units in defining and implementing technical specifications for BI solutions

·  Design, construction, testing and implementation of BI project initiatives and methodology

·  Define develop and manage BI methodology

·  Responsible for the alignment of business requirements with the application and information architecture

·  Optimize data warehouse to support business users and Business Intelligence (BI) applications

·  Project assurance and technical reviews of BI projects, resolve issues where necessary

Develop and maintain technical project plans and documentation

 

Experience--

·  Big 5 Consulting BI/DW or boutique BI shop experience

·  Past experience managing a book of BI projects

·  Business Development experience in selling BI work – ability to identify new clients and be able to close BI work.

·  Past experience in delivering BI tool selections, architect solutions and implementations

Minimum of 10 years experience

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities--

·  Ability to recruit BI consultants

·  Demonstrated hands-on project management experience

Business Development experience

 

Education--

Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred

 

Other Requirements--

Travel requirement:  Up to 75% (Averaging 35%)
