Documentum Project Manager

Position: Documentum PMLocation: RILength: 6 months + Description:Our Client, a global leader of Financial Services and Wealth Management Tools is seeking a Project Manager with Documentum Skills to work with in the  Clients Technology Group.  This position  will report directly to the Director of Development. The primary responsibility of the Documentum Project Manager position is to fully manage and deliver a Documentum-based software development project and strategic technology platform in support of the Enterprise Compliance business units (primarily Advertising & Sales Literature Review teams).

 

The candidate will have experience as an Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Project Manager and in the implementation of related solutions from EMC Documentum in large complex environments. A demonstrable track record in the successful delivery of these solutions as a project or program manager/tech lead over multiple project life cycles is required.

 

Our environment is fast-paced and regulatory driven. The candidate must be motivated, respond to changing business needs and be able to apply themselves to business problems. The focus will include designing and developing a browser independent, web-based application using personalization and content management techniques to be used by Client internal customers.  The position includes working closely with the business to assist in evaluating business requirements, completing SDS and TSD documents, developing and managing overall project schedules, and leading teams of programmers through the development, testing and deployment phases. This position requires an individual who can develop a strong overall knowledge of the businesses, as well as, identify and understand current and future system requirements. The individual will be responsible, through both individual technical contribution and team execution, for all aspects of project management, including project scope, resource planning and project status. We’re looking for a hands-on manager willing to both manage the project and take on aspects of the development effort themselves.

 

 

Requirements/Responsibilities:

R  Installation, configuration, customization and support for Documentum 5.x and/or 6.x components, including Content Server, BPM, and WebTop; develop design specifications for object model, security model, workflows, and customizations

o  Develop WDK customizations using Java, XML, and JSP.

o  Develop business object customizations using DFC and BOF.

o  Develop Documentum jobs and reports using custom/3rd party tools.

o  Ability to use the Documentum BPM tool suite to create custom workflow / Lifecycle solutions that meet the business requirements.

o  Key Technologies: Java, JSP, AJAX, Web Service, Servlets, XML, HTML, Javascript, SQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Websphere.

o  Ability to develop document object models and access control policies using Documentum technologies (e.g. – permission sets, alias sets, and custom object types.

o  Prepare and execute test plans and scripts for all phases of testing.

o  Ability to create custom Documentum methods and jobs to support business processes.

o  Ability to design reports to summarize content creation, publication, and existing content based on current state, categories and topics.

o  Develop system changes/enhancements based on change requests from end users - Assist with roll-out of application

o  Perform technical investigation of new features

o  Provide guidance to business users to ensure system is meeting requirements - Assist with user acceptance of system

R  Provide input to help optimize the systems development practices and support strategic planning

R  Responsible for all aspects of project management – resource planning, testing, technical planning, production support/issue resolution, risk management and cost/benefit analysis.

R  Work with other systems managers to understand interdependencies of projects and systems components. Keeping all matrixed development groups coordinated and appropriately engaged

R  Provide timely status updates to business and system stakeholders.

R  Work with development team to establish and achieve individual goals

R  Collaborate with business partners to understand business requirements and coordinate the formulation of business solutions.

R  Facilitate communications between business organizations

We're looking for a senior level project manager with at least 8 to 10 years of Documentum development and project management experience. Applicant must have a strong background as both a technical developer/lead and experience managing software development efforts. We’re also seeking someone who can articulate technical designs, strategies and problems to management as well as mentor both junior and senior level developers. Strong communication skills are essential.

 

The position may often entail coordinating and facilitating the efforts of several systems groups globally to deliver a seamlessly integrated solution to our customers. The person must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate complex issue resolution across multiple systems and business groups. Regular communication (both formal and informal) with Senior Management is required. Must be able to manage a team and develop synergy across organizations.
