ETL Developer

The ETL team within the Enterprise Technology group provides expertise and processing services to the enterprise and expert assistance to other line of business technology teams in utilizing ETL By joining the team as an ETL Developer, you will be exposed to cutting-edge, distributed database environments that support business activities such as Fixed Income Trading, Institutional Brokerage Trading & Operations, Electronic/Strategic Options Trading and firm-wide Compliance & Operations with high throughput OLTP systems, Business Intelligence and Data WarehousingIn this role, you will participate in all phases of software development and will be responsible for developing, implementing and supporting Enterprise-wide ETL solutions, thereby having the opportunity to learn every facet of our business and provide innovative solutions to complex technical projects Essential Functions Develop timely, reliable and consistent Extraction, Transformation, Cleansing and Load (ETL) processes for the EnterpriseProvide operational support to existing ETL Processes and recommend solutions for improvementManage ETL defects, enhancement and new functionality requests to meet changes in the Source systems and business needsUnderstand and manage relationship between source data to target systems, associated with ETL processes Ability to co-develop and reuse similar capabilities for data extraction, conversion and transformation processesRecommend and participate in standardization of ETL processes, scripts as required Required/Preferred Qualifications A minimum of three (3) years of hands-on Oracle development experience in a client/server or service-oriented architecture (SOA) environment Thorough understanding of Logical and Physical modeling concepts Thorough understanding of Oracle relational databases with strong SQL, PL/SQL & Tuning skillsExperience with UNIX, Linux and Windows operating systems required Unix Shell, Perl Scripting experience a mustExposure to multiple File Formats and diverse Data processing environmentsExperience and / or willingness to work with other databases such as SQL Server and/or MySQLWorking experience with commercial ETL / extract tools as well as designing and developing custom ETL ProcessesFamiliarity with Database-specific ETL featuresDatabase Administration and/or Data warehouses experience a plus Financial services or industry knowledge a plusExcellent analytical capabilities including complex technical problem solvingBachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience* Apply Salary/Benefits At SIG, our employees are our most valued assets.
