Economist

Moody's Economy.com, an economic consulting firm located in West Chester, Pennsylvania, is looking for an Economist.  The job duties of an Economist include producing applied financial/economic research focused on implications for individual industries, sectors, and/or the formation of policy.  The work will coordinate and compile the research of subject matter experts from various units in Moody’s Corporation.  Therefore, the position places more emphasis on productive communications rather than original research.  Position may include presentation of research to various forums or contributing research to the presentations of senior staff.



Qualifications:

Graduate work in economics and finance, as well as familiarity with debt and capital markets; initiative; ability to work under tight deadlines; able to function independently; strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with subject matter experts and respond flexibly to changing needs of the organization. Excellent writing and presentation skills are a must, as well as two to three years experience in applied economic/financial analysis, commentary and writing.  Experience in business journalism would be a definite plus.  Education Requirements:  Master's degree in Economics or Finance; excellent academic record.
