Fairlawn, Ohio based hospital Medicaid Eligibility Company has an immediate opening Financial Eligibility Specialist.  In this position, you will use your knowledge of Medicaid eligibility, hospital patient assistance programs and interviewing skills to effectively interact with individuals once services rendered to them.  Position involves direct contact with community agencies, medical providers and patients.  The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, people oriented and reliable transportation a must.

Job Requirements: Requires a minimum of high school diploma/GED Knowledge of Ohio Medicaid eligibility a strong plus Willingness for day time travel. . Computer Literate- Microsoft office software a plus. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and fast paced environment. Excellent people skills with strong leadership skills. Minimum typing speed- 40 wpm. Ability to analyze internal processes and results. Organized and detail-oriented Strong oral and written communication skills

Essential Functions:

* Complete and submit Medicaid applications; contact patients, using skip trace procedures, to establish eligibility potential.* Define necessary documents to be supplied by patients and prepare for patient interviews with Public Aid.* Analyze assigned accounts* Meet deadlines* Discern 3rd party reimbursement potential and route claim for investigation as necessary.* Maintain current knowledge of Public Assistance policies, procedures and eligibility requirements by referring to the Public Assistance manuals.* Interact with other representatives to schedule outside appointments.* Interact with caseworkers and supervisors to determine results or additional needs to finalize Medicaid applications* Other duties as assigned
