Marina Medical Billing Service, Inc., is seeking qualified Medical Procedural Coders.  Marina Medical fulfills a vital role as the pre-eminent provider of medical billing services to emergency physicians in the western United States and has been in business since 1981.  Our office is convenient to both Los Angeles and Orange County.  We hire, train and retain the brightest, most qualified people in the industry.

NOTE: This is not an entry level position to the field of Medical Coding, we are seeking only highly qualified individuals.  Management level candidates should specify their desired position.



Position Requirements 



· 2+ years of physician/professional coding experience Required

' 3-5 years of general medical charge coding required 

· Extensive knowledge of medical terminology

' Pro-Fee Coding experience highly preferred

· Strong analytical and auditing skills

' Very strong computer skills required

· Strong interpersonal & communication skills

· Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment

· Background in a medical environment such as RN, NP, or PA is desired

· Coding credentials of CCS, CPC, or RHIT (or any pertaining advanced educational degrees) are highly preferred

· Coding experience in ED is a stongly desired



In this position you will be responsible for:



· Abstraction of all diagnoses, procedures, and professional services with the most accurate and descriptive ICD-9-CM and CPT4

· Maintain a working knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding principles, governmental regulations, protocols, and third party requirements.

· Maintain and comply with policies and procedures for confidentiality of all patient records.

· Potential for remote coding after training  (ie. Proficient Coders are able to take work home)
