Equity Trader

 The Overlay Trader will be a member of the Beta Management team and as such, implement the client’s (and/or investment consultants) overlay strategy.  S/he will work closely with the Director of Investments, and/or Overlay Portfolio Managers as well as Client Service to coordinate an overlay strategy that meets the client’s objectives.  S/he will be responsible for the execution of equity, derivative, and currency trades required in the implementation of that overlay strategy.

 Familiarity with equity, derivative, and currency trading, 2 to 3 years experience in an equity and/or derivative trading environment.  Knowledge of algorithmic trading, optimization, equity crossing networks, liquidity analysis, and risk assessment.  Good project management and communication skills.  Ability to effectively discuss components of a trading strategy, including the effects of liquidity, volatility, market impact and opportunity costs.  Good working vocabulary of investment terminology.  Knowledge of and experience with trading systems.  Strong analytical skills.  A basic understanding of fiduciary principles in general and of ERISA in particular.  Proficient in the use of Bloomberg and Excel. MBA or CFA (or candidate) preferred.
