Overview
The FI Business Manager/Chief of Staff provides leverage to the Head of Global Fixed Income Business in leading and managing the global FI Business organization. This position is responsible for providing direct support to the Head of Global FI Business, facilitating the effectiveness and impact of the Head of Global FI Business team, and executing ad hoc projects. He/she will serve as an advisor, partner and sounding board to the Head of Global FI Business to help establish business direction and drive business performance. The successful candidate must be a strong leader, drive for results, manage stakeholders, and bring out the best in an already high-performing team. This role requires a person who has a proven record of building trust, leading with content and influencing through others.

Responsibilities
Partner with the Head of Global FI Business to identify, define, and frame strategic issues. Serve as a trusted advisor to the Head of Global FI Business to define her agenda and act as a sounding board to provide unbiased feedback and views on key issues as they arise. Set the agenda for the Global FI Business team and develop a framework for supporting the team. Act as the voice of the Head of Global FI Business in key processes. Represent the views and agenda of the Head of Global FI Business in ongoing business processes including budgeting, business performance reviews, and other forums as required. Provide leverage to the Head of Global FI Business in day-to-day management by taking ownership for resolving issues on his behalf. Develop objectives and processes to enhance coordination and collaboration across Global FI Business. Define and manage all internal and external communications for the Head of Global FI Business. Support key initiatives as the Global FI Business level. Own, manage, and execute special projects/initiatives for Global FI Business as required.



Requirements
Demonstrated business acumen - Understands the role of core business functions across BGI and is knowledgeable about the Fixed Income business and strategies. Applies this knowledge to recommend and deliver business-orientated solutions. Ability to influence - Builds and sustain strong relationships with individuals and groups at all levels, finds and leverages strengths of other parts of the organization, knows who to call to get things done. Proven track record of delivery – Possesses a results-oriented mentality and is highly effective at coordination, execution, and follow-up focused on the critical priorities to drive positive results. Able to lead with content – Skilled at framing issues at a business level to deal with contentious and difficult topics. Highly effective at communicating orally and in writing to a range of audiences. High degree of self-motivation with strong integrity & ethics guided by BGI's values: integrity, insight, innovation, passion, One BGI. Demonstrated ability to use discretion and exercise sound judgment.
