Facilities Engineer

The National Cooperative Services Corporation (NCSC) is a privately funded, member-owned cooperative that began operation in 1981. We have a great opportunity for a Facilities Engineer to join the NCSC team! Reporting to the Chief Engineer, this position will is responsible for performing  operations and maintenance (O&M)  of building systems at our Class A Corporate Headquarters Campus in Herndon,  Virginia,  delivering superior customer service, and a safe and comfortable facility.Responsibilities include:Perform general building maintenance Perform troubleshooting and repairs on all electrical systems, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC. Complete work orders assigned in a timely manner Perform routine inspections and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical equipment and systems and take corrective action as required. May assist with coordinating the activities of outside vendors to ensure quality standards are maintained. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records as required for various facilities record keeping requirements. Record and report all faults, deficiencies and other unusual occurrences. Purchase supplies and equipment. Code invoices and file paperwork as required. Recommend and solicit estimates for equipment and facility repairs or any opportunities for cost savings. Perform all duties as directed or required in a safe manner and in accordance with established procedures.



Requirements


Required Education & Experience:  Requires High School education or equivalent and 3-5 years experience in the building maintenance field.  Experience with computerized energy management systems, Universal CFC certification, Knowledge of ICC, NFPA & NEC codes, and a Valid Driver’s License. Desired Knowledge and Experience: Journeyman license in either HVAC, Electrical fields or a 6th class D.C. or 3rd class MD, Operating Engineers License.  Working knowledge of Trane Tracer & Summit building control systems and OSHA Standards.Computer Skills:Experience with computerized energy management systems and Proficiency in computer applications and software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet research.  Lotus Notes experience helpful Other Required Skills: Excellent customer service orientation. Commitment to produce work of the highest quality, so as to meet our Team standard of no "Callbacks" of completed task(s).Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail. Good oral and written communication skills. On-call required in the evenings and weekends at least 1 weekend a month. This is considered an essential position; therefore employee must report/remain at work during emergencies and early closing. May work off ladders and high places.
