Finance Planning and analysis manager

We have an immediate opening for a Manager of Planning and Analysis who would be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, costing and inventory. This position includes the following responsibilities:

Direct the development of the annual operating budget, including revenue, raw material, departmental expense capital and headcount budgets

Create and maintain a budget and forecasting system to allow for input/updates by managers.

Prepare monthly “Budget to Actual” departmental expense reports.

Implement a capital budgeting model and concomitant policies and procedures.

Evaluate capital and expense appropriations projects and recommend selection of the least risk alternative to improve profitability and initiate post audit of projects.

Ensure accuracy of bills of material, labor and overhead rates used to compile the standard product costs.

Develop and implement effective financial reporting and design monthly reports to assist management in cost and process control and to highlight trends in sales price, mix and volumes.

Monitor and report production yields, downtime and bottlenecks and research variances and highlight areas for process improvement.

Measure and report on progress of projects (process improvement, cost reduction, capacity utilization).

Monitor cash flow and approve disbursements.

Participate in month end closings

Review and approve adjustments to inventory reserves.

Coordinate annual physical inventory.

Improve/refine the cycle count process and procedures.

Analyze and review cycle count process and physical inventory results.

Support internal/external financial audits.

Perform sales, cost and margin analysis by customer and SKU.

Manage the preparation and submission of all forecasts, profit estimates and variance analysis.

Provide analytical support to sales and marketing with regard to incentive programs, discounts, and pricing.

 

Other duties as assigned.

 

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or accounting, (MBA preferred)  plus the following qualifications:

 

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of manufacturing experience in budgeting, planning, forecasting and cost accounting. Preference for process costing experience.

Biotech or pharmaceutical experience a plus.

Advanced skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

COGNOS, Hyperion and SAP skills are highly desirable.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.
