Financial Analyst Summary

Do you have Public Accounting experience and want to transition into an analysis role with a stable but dynamic financial services company?

If so, we have the opportunity for you!  Our client is looking for a Field Financial Analyst for their Santa Monica office. In this position you will have the chance to transition into an analysis role with a financial services company that is consistently growing even in this market. You will be conducting audits of and analyzing the financials for some of the firms largest clients. You will have lots of chance to travel to some great cities in the United States including San Francisco, Toronto, NYC and Boston.  In addition, our client is known to promote from within and provide an easy transition between roles.
 

Primary Financial Analyst Duties & Responsibilities Perform audits on existing clients as well as some basic prospect audits independently Researching and analyzing public companies, private companies and private equityAs the lead analyst, prepare a clear and concise written report that highlights areas of potential exposure and succinctly summarize audit findings.


During the audit process the Financial Analyst is required to: Obtain information on collateral performance such as turnover and dilution, non-prime, etc. and communicate any material changes. Analyze financial reports to evaluate and report material changes in operating performance and/or balance sheet status Assess the client’s overall systems and records. Communicate with A/E, Assistant Audit Manager and/or Regional Audit Manager throughout the engagement to keep them appraised of any material events. Assist Sr. Financial Analysts with complex recurring or prospect audits.May be required to assist Account Executive with new business funding takeover procedures. Assist in the training of Associate Financial Analysts.Other ad hoc and analysis as needed.

 


Essential Financial Analyst Skills & CharacteristicsAt least twelve months of relevant auditing experiencePlan to pursue a CPA or CFA certificationBS in Accounting or FinanceStrong written and oral communication skills Ability to work independently or as part of a team Proficiency with Word and Excel


NOTES: Public Accounting experience is an ABSOLUTE requirement. Those without any experience within a Public Accounting firm need not apply!
