DescriptionFive Star Quality Care, Inc. a leader in Senior Living is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst to work in their Watertown, MA office.This position will assist in the completion of external public filings (10Q and 10K) and internal monthly management and board of director reporting. This position requires strong organizational, the ability to multi-task and work under strict deadlines. Essential functions of this position: •Assist in the analytical review of consolidated financial statements.•Preparation of supporting schedules and calculations for all external quarterly and annual filings. •Assist in the completion of senior management monthly financial reporting package.•Ensure all documentation complies with company regulations and professional standards including GAAP.•Assist in the completion of quarterly and annual financial surveys.•Assist in financial preparations for annual Housing and Urban Development audits.•Proactive and frequent interaction with the corporate accounting team members in evaluating accounting issues and information related to the financial closings. •Maintain financial reporting integrity.•Special projects as needed.Required ExperienceBachelor’s Degree in accounting. CPA or in the process of obtaining CPA preferred.Computer skills:Proficiency in computer navigation and Microsoft environment.Proficiency with computerized accounting software, preferably PeopleSoft.2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting. Strong knowledge of general accounting and GAAP is required. Detail oriented with high degree of accuracy.
