Financial Systems Analyst

Primary Function:

The Financial Systems Analyst is responsible the controls/maintenance/data integrity of the Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) consolidation system and the Cognos Planning system, as well as the consolidation and preparation and analysis of monthly international and consolidating financial reports. This role acts as a liaison with the Information Systems group and is responsible for ensuring compliance of Accounting Systems modifications with SOX documentation requirements.

Responsibilities:

HFM and Cognos Planning
• Assist the Manager of Financial Systems and Consolidation by acting as a liaison with IS Dept on HFM and Cognos-related system projects.
• Assist the Manager of Financial Systems and Consolidation in the Admin role over/access control to the HFM and Cognos Planning applications.
• Maintain integrity of HFM consolidation software (i.e. entity structure, account mapping, etc.) and Cognos Planning applications.
• Work directly with the Manager of Financial Systems and Consolidation related to design efforts and configuration of systems to meet the needs of Finance, including system upgrades and application implementations. This also includes identification and implementation of system/applications and report enhancements to support the changing needs of the business.
• Responsible for report writing within HFM and Cognos Planning, including customization of existing reports and creation of new reports to address business needs.
• Assist with: budget/forecast consolidation and management reporting; monthly consolidation in Hyperion; preparation of Cognos forecast for loading into Hyperion and loading actual results from HFM into Cognos Planning.
• Provide technical support to the Finance teams both domestically and internationally on Cognos Planning and HFM application matters.
• SOX/regulatory documentation of protocols for testing of modifications/upgrades HFM and Cognos Planning applications, including assisting with the coordination of testing process.

Consolidation Process

• Directly responsible for support of the subsidiary submissions process (e.g., populating HFM with supporting data such as foreign currency rates) to ensure timely and accurate global consolidations/closes.
• Prepare and gather data for monthly financial package, both domestic and international.
• Work with the public accountants to complete quarterly and year-end audits.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelors Degree in Finance and/or Financial Systems mix; 1-3 years of finance experience (either accounting or planning) and/or multi-national currency experience; 1-3years experience with financial systems, including HFM and Cognos. Solid general systems knowledge.
