Fund Accountant I

Overview of Role  In a daily, weekly and monthly deadline environment, the Fund Accountant I is responsible for the accurate and timely calculation and reporting of fund net assets and unit values for a group of standard funds. Processes transaction,validates input and output and performs reconciliations to ensure that fund information is recorded and valued accurately and completely. Processes allocations and prepares statements for distribution to investors With the guidance of Fund Accountant II and Senior Fund Accountant, provides excellent customer service to investment advisors and clients. Applies accounting fundamentals, security investment concepts, and an understanding of the components of net assets and the net value calculation in performing tasks. Demonstrated Shared Responsibilities Day-to-Day Responsibilities Reconciles cash activity, cash balance and asset holdings Calculates and reports cash availability and cash projections Properly records investment transactions, capital transactions, corporate actions, payments and accruals to ensure the accurate recording of assets, liabilities, income, expenses and gains and losses. Validates, researches and maintains investment security profiles and related security valuations. Prepares periodic control proofs and reconciliations Analyzes data inputs and outputs for reasonableness Responds to requests and deliverable with internal and external clients and vendors Prepares, organizes, and maintains documentation to support business, cycle reporting, client reporting, financial reporting, regulatory filings, compliance analysis, expense forecasting and analysis, performance analysis and tax reporting Adhoc projects as defined by supervisor Experience Required Minimum 2 year degree or 2 years of accounting or financial services experience required 4 year degree preferred
