We are looking for a senior fund accountant with advanced fund accounting experience for our Woburn, MA office.  The candidate will provide helpdesk support for a mutual fund accounting application.  The position requires daytime support as well as 2-4 hours of pager support outside of normal office hours (the pager support can be done offsite.)  The ideal candidate will have experience querying databases and troubleshooting fund accounting issues.

 

There is the potential for the candidate to learn other aspects of the investment industry.

 

This is a PERMANENT position, but we are willing to look at contract candidates.

 

Required skills:

 

Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a Fund Accountant

Additional 3 years in a support role within a help desk or system project environment

Knowledge of advanced mutual fund accounting concepts: general ledger accounting, OID Accretion, Amortization and Interest Accruals for all fixed-income security types

Experience querying databases

Experience troubleshooting fund accounting issues

Demonstrated organizational skills

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work within deadlines

Ability to work independently and as a team player

Strong oral communication skills

Customer service oriented

 

Pluses:

Experience navigating Lotus Notes

Experience supporting a fund accounting system
