Futures Trading Support Engineer

Our client is a premier global investment bank who have further enhanced their worldclass standing throughout the recent market turbulence.  They are seeking a new hire to supplement their growing and extremely profitable Electronic Trading desk.   As a Trade Support Engineer your role will entail comprehensive trading application deployment and support.  You will become an integral part of the firm's dynamic and extremely profitable Electronic Trading team, supporting the firm's global trading efforts in the sizzling hot commodities, futures and options markets.  You will have the opportunity to work very closely with the the firm's highly regarded futures and commodities traders.  You will also interface extensively with external clients and vendors.  In short your duties will be varied and mentally stimulating, with no two days alike. Requirements:2-3 years experience dealing with Independent Software Vendors such as GL Trade (NYFIX), Trading Technologies or ORC Software, etc.  Some experience dealing with electronic exchanges such as eCBOT, CME, LIFFE and Eurex would be highly desirable. Implementation and support of FIX Protocol applications beneficial. Basic knowledge of networks and TCP/IP.  OS experience with some combination of Win Server 2003, Sun Solaris and/or Linux. Some exposure to all environments would be preferred, but strengths in one area could compensate for lack of experience in another. Due to the large amount of vendor and client liaison, it is essential that the successful candidate have client facing abilities with excellent communication & presentation skills.  Must be able to operate efficiently under pressure with the ability to troubleshoot problems on the spot when necessary.
The compensation for this opportunity will be commensurate with the experience level of the successful candidate. For a senior candidate with all relevant domain knowledge the base could approach the $150K range to attract stars, with an additional bonus potentially taking the overall comp package into the $250K range. Perhaps equally important will be the opportunity to work in an extremely dynamic trading desk environment with a very high-powered trading team and significant growth potential.
