Job CategoryAccounting/Finance/Insurance Job Location US-CA-Los Angeles StatusFull Time Position description The Global Securities Administration (GSA) department establishes and maintains records for the 15,000+ equity securities in the master asset reference database for the Capital Group. This critical asset data is necessary for trading, accounting, settlement, pricing, compliance, reporting, and results measurement. The Global Securities Administration team is expanding and we are seeking a Team Manager to be part of the downtown Los Angeles team responsible for asset set-up as well as equity market data research and analysis. Specifically, this hand's-on Manager will be responsible for time-critical asset set-up and maintenance as well as float/outstanding shares updates or corporate actions updates, on a daily basis. This requires gathering, verifying and auditing information from various systems and sources in a highly detailed, fast-paced and high-volume environment. Additionally, the individual in this position will also be cross trained, work on system projects, participate in industry forums and may have other duties assigned as necessary.Qualifications A minimum of 5-10 years experience within the financial services industry, preferably in asset set-up, corporate actions or working with market data Experience managing, coaching and developing associates as well as leadership qualities. This would include serving as a role model, being appropriately self assured, poised and concise when working with the team as well as a spectrum of departments throughout the organization Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to credibly facilitate cross-department discussions The successful candidate must be able to quickly learn new systems, procedures and methods A keen eye for detail and the ability to produce consistently accurate work and audit the work of others, while managing multiple activities in a deadline driven environment Proven ability to work effectively in a cohesive, team environment as well as independently. This requires being collaborative, reliable, open to input, honest, forthright and respectful Track record of exercising good judgment and adding value when applying business and procedural knowledge in a complex environment. This requires proactively participating in process improvement and risk-mitigation activities Must be analytical and demonstrate the initiative to identify and logically resolve issues. This specifically requires being inquisitive and able to deal with ambiguity while developing approaches that lead to successful resolution Demonstrate the initiative to stay abreast of industry events impacting global stock exchanges.
