Job Summary
You’re an expert at employee relations, a manager for others to emulate, a multi-tasker extraordinaire, the one people vent to, not the one who vents. You have the ability to read people and situations, to think on your feet, and to provide proper and correct advice on the spot. Your calm demeanor welcomes manager consultation and diminishes employee tension. If the going gets tough, you’re eager to take the lead and jump right in. You’re meticulous at documenting any and all employee meetings.
You know the rules because you’re a master at enforcing them properly with confidence and conviction. Even though you have that inviting personality, you know HR can be a lonely world where close inter-company friendships are taboo. You know the effect a termination can have, and you know when a suspension is better.
You work effectively with management, not against it. You have a sophisticated sense of composure and leadership. You can be understanding, direct, creative, strong, and corporate. You know all aspects of HR and keep abreast of new policies. In the event that an issue arises, you can provide immediate guidance and then follow up with well-researched facts. You have the magic HR touch: Everything that crosses your desk is positively or appropriately resolved.
You work extremely well with others, but you’re self-disciplined enough to run the show on your own. You know your boundaries but have the ability to offer the assistance and support that let others shine. No task is beneath you. If there’s data entry or filing to be done, you willingly offer to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty. You follow through on what’s expected, and then give even more.
You’re infinitely adaptable to quick-changing situations, big personalities, and unexpected one-of-a-kind events. You don’t buckle under pressure. You’re looking for the place to call home, where you can fine-tune your talents and be continually challenged to do more and do better for the good of the company as a whole.
Do you have what it takes?
