Exciting Opportunity for a Network Administrator/IT Manager for a Dallas Firm!!
Our client is looking for a solid candidate that has 10+ years supporting Microsoft NT/2000/2003 servers, networking infrastructures, as well as, desktop support. In addition this person must also have a good business sense and communicate effectively.
Currently our client has six Microsoft Windows 2003 servers, including Exchange 2003, SQL 2003, two Watchguard firewalls, web applications and database servers, in support of business processing applications that the Network Administrator/IT Manager will support. In addition, the position will support phone server and administration, Pakman server, Advent Portfolio Management Software, Junxure Contact Management Software, Blackberry Enterprise Server and desktop support to others as needed.
The Network Administrator/Manager will be responsible for the following:
Provide guidance on Industry IT directions and set company goals to pace with the industry.Maintain a manageable, secure and stable networking environment; LAN and WAN for the Dallas and California offices.Perform software procurement, installations, configuration, maintenance, updates, security patches and upgrades to all firms’ operating systems and production software.Perform hardware procurement, installations, configuration, maintenance, updates, security updates and upgrades for all current and future servers, network apparatuses and desktops.Produce and disseminate detail schedules for installations and upgrades, as well, as maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.Proactively monitor, make adjustments and tune network infrastructure, server(s) and desktop(s) system(s) to achieve a constant optimum level of performance.Ensure all firms’ data integrity by evaluating, implementation and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.Ensure data recoverability by design and implementation of a system wide backup routine and schedule. Conducts routine hardware and software audits of all workstations and servers for compliance with established standards, policies, configuration guidelines and procedures, as well as, applicable laws.Develops and maintains a comprehensive hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.Customer service experience, technical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, inquisitive, informative, detail oriented, good follow-up skills, great phone demeanor, positive, friendly and service oriented.Design and development of databases for ad hoc forms, reports and file information for management’s review.Create and manage IT budgets
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day support and maintenance of Dell and Compaq/HP Windows servers, workstations, desktops and individual computer support environment to include installation of hardware and operating systems, upgrades and operating system tuning for business application requirements.System security and high availability are critical responsibilities.Provide first level Microsoft O/S and Microsoft Office 2003 Training.Maintain IT certification and upgrades as required.
