Job CategoryIT/Software Development Job Location US-CA-Irvine StatusFull Time Position description The Service Management (SM) Specialist acts as part of a strategy team which develops and implements service management solutions in conjunction with application and infrastructure project teams. We seek an individual who will analyze business requirements, develop service management strategies & roadmaps and ensure that the strategies are successfully adopted by the customers to address current business needs and future requirements. You will: Lead small to medium cross-functional technology workgroups Serve as process advisor on cross-functional projects Participate on and/or lead service management projects Perform independent and group research into new technology and processes Lead service management technology evaluationsQualificationsBecause of the enterprise-wide nature of this role, the successful candidate must demonstrate at least general knowledge in all of the following IT functions, with deep knowledge/experience in the first two items: IT service management methodologies, concepts and technologies, including tools and environments (BMC Remedy preferred) Principles and practices of ITIL Versions 2 & 3 and COBIT Application development methodologies Desktop software and hardware technologies Networking infrastructures, including local area or wide area networking technologies and protocols Network and systems management technologies and concepts System instrumentation techniques and tools Capacity planning and performance management< br> In addition, the qualified candidate will possess the following skills and experience: Successful management of a service management function for a large enterprise. Experience should include design, development, and hands-on operation of service management practices Demonstrated ability to evaluate user needs or specifications and translate them into a service management solution Demonstrated ability to facilitate and enable integration of application and business process Demonstrated ability to facilitate technical meetings and small technology workgroups Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver papers, documentation, and presentations that are concise, accurate, timely and appropriate for the target audience, and to present service management subjects to both technical and non-technical audiences Strong experience with project management, including knowledge of various PM techniques and methodologies Experience working with vendors and managing vendor relationships An undergraduate degree in a related field is required and an advanced degree is preferredOur environment is highly collaborative.
