Individual Investor Product Specialist
Job Location US-CA-Los Angeles StatusFull Time Position description The Individual Investor Product Specialist will be part of a newly formed team within American Funds Distributor (AFD) Individual Investor business line. This position will have responsibility in the following areas: Supporting initiatives related to sales, marketing, servicing and pricing for Individual Retirement Accounts including rollovers, CollegeAmerica (AFDs 529 college savings plan), and other emerging individual investor products such as Health savings Accounts. Working with internal reporting and analysis resources to develop and deliver business reports and to present industry research / findings. Representing the Individual Investor line of business in all pricing related projects such as policy changes and potential introduction of new pricing options. Supporting certain education and training initiatives focused on delivering retirement planning and income management content and tools to financial advisers. Coordinating with the Web team to manage projects related to investment assessment and portfolio tools available to financial advisers. Managing other initiatives as they arise. The Individual Investor Product Specialist will play a significant role in business planning, project management, and related communication / training across the areas described above.This role will work closely with the Marketing team to execute sales and marketing strategies, and will interact with many other internal constituents including AFDs other business lines, Marketing Research, Business Intelligence, Web, Communications, Dealer Relations, IT, the AFD external sales force, service centers, and other Capital Group entities such as American Funds Service Company and Capital Bank & Trust. This position may also interact with external constituents such as financial advisers, broker/dealer home office contacts, third party administrators, and a variety of third party product/service providers.QualificationsDesired skills and experience Ability to effectively coordinate and communicate with a broad range of associates/departments across the organization. Solid project management and organizational skills detail orientation is essential. The ability to communicate and present findings and recommendations clearly/simply both orally and in writing to team members and senior management. Strong interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships. Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
