Job CategoryIT/Software Development Job Location US-CA-Los Angeles StatusFull Time Position description The Information Architect will help formulate the navigation, functionality, organizational structure, page-to-page flow and design of the shareholder website for American Funds. Projects are a blend of website enhancements, redesigns and development. Primary responsibilities include working in a collaborative team environment to determine functionality and navigation solutions for the website; create wireframes and develop categorization, nomenclature and site maps; create or assist in prototype development; participate in research efforts to create and conduct usability tests; and support the lead designer on selected graphic design assignments as required.QualificationsMinimum of 3-5 years of information architect experience for a large and complex website with a diverse user base, wireframe and prototype development/documentation, and application of site usage data is requiredExperience working on complex, transactional websites requiredBroad understanding of the Web and associated technologies, extensive knowledge of human/computer interaction and usability, a strong sense of Web design style and graphic design, experience in storyboarding interactive interfaces for Flash, and proficiency with HTML and information architect tools such as Visio and Photoshop to create wireframes and prototypesA proactive individual with strong oral and written communication skills including documentation, presentation and collaboration abilitiesMust possess a close attention to detail, excellent organization, analytical and problem-solving skills, and have the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with a high level of service orientationDegree in human/computer interaction, library/information science, information and visual design and/or technical communications preferredWe offer excellent salaries, a progressive environment and a premier benefits package that includes: Medical, dental and vision coverage effective day one Three weeks vacation in year one 15% of annual salary plus bonuses contributed by the company to your retirement plan, up to IRS limits Generous educational assistance Health club subsidy Paid, comprehensive training programs Team-oriented working environment Business casual dressWe are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
