Institutional Client Services Senior Specialist

Job Responsibilities:To provide optimal and timely client service to Institutional Clients trading and settling US Equity and Fixed Income.  Inquiries are received via telephone and e-mail.  To comply with regulatory requirements and account maintenance, in order to eliminate & minimize capital charge exposure daily To develop strong business relationships with ML Global settlement locations, ML Trading Support areas, Client Data Services and other ML departments  To understand the Escalation guidelines to promptly address and escalate financial and negative client exposure situations. To perform prematching of future settled trades to ensure accurately and efficient settlement with our clients and clients counterparties.  To successfully use time management skills.  To participate in special projects as requested by management. Strategically work on streamlining the process to minimize and reduce manual redundancies Qualifications:Minimum of 2 years of Client Service/Settlement experience, a plus  Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize and multi task in a fast paced environment Subject matter expertise on US Equity and Fixed Income settlement process, inclusive of Repos, Mortgages, Corporates, Muni.  Strong oral and written communication skills to be able to interact successfully with sales representatives, traders, clients, custodian banks and ML regions Working knowledge of Pierce systems, and DTCC  a plus.  Understanding of Regulatory exposure reporting.  Strong analytical skills and trouble shooting abilities.  Research and Reconciliation experience a plus Strong sense of teamwork, dedication, and reliability  Ability to work extended hours and on weekends and US Holidays, when required, to meet job demands Merrill Lynch is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The Firm and its affiliates do not discriminate in employment because of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, veteran status, disability, age, citizenship, marital or domestic/civil partnership status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression or because of any other criteria prohibited under controlling federal, state or local law.
