Instructional Designer

As an Instructional Designer in Vanguard University, your role will be varied and you will have the opportunity to engage in all aspects of the design process.  You will consult with clients to understand their business goals, and recommend varied learning solutions.  The role gives you the opportunity to serve as the lead contact for designated client groups and/or designated curricula, and you would participate in business planning activities within Vanguard University to determine feasibility of design initiatives.   Of course, as a designer, you would also have responsibility for planning and conducting needs assessments, analyzing data, and designing courses.  Our designers develop course materials, including comprehensive instructor notes, participant workbooks, job aids, multi-media, e-learning storyboards, etc., and they create learning measurement strategies and evaluations.  

Position Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience; Master's Degree or coursework in instructional design preferred.
- At least 3 years of instructional design experience.  
- Expertise in storyboard/multi-media design preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of instructional design theories and strategies (ADDIE-type design process models, Adult Learning Theory).
- Understanding of performance models preferred.
- Some classroom training experience preferred.  
- Experience in needs assessment.
- Demonstrated project-management skills.
- Strong client-contact, professional presence, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong writing and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel.
- Advanced PowerPoint skills.
- Excellent writing skills.
