EOE.Summary Description:The Portfolio Manager is responsible for the management of PowerShares ETFs, also providing fund analysis, attribution and other product support. This position is newly created to assist with the continued rapid growth of the ETF business. PowerShares is the 4th largest ETF group and has $12.5 billion assets under management. This position will be responsible for ETF portfolio management in a high volume, high stress environment. Additional portfolio management responsibilities include fund and market analysis and the development and presentation of in-depth research reports provided to clients, advisors, and internal marketing and sales staff. The candidate must have a thorough understanding of trading and the financial markets. The position, located in Wheaton, Illinois, will serve as a single contributor with no immediate direct reports. Primary Duties / Responsibilities:1. Fund Management and Rebalances Trading: the daily portfolio management functions of an ETF such as creating an optimal portfolio which effectively tracks the index in a tax-efficient manner. In addition to index reconstitution portfolio trading, the portfolio manager will be responsible for tax management, corporate action management, cash and compliance trading under the supervision of the Director of Portfolio Management & Trading. Responsible for the facilitation of trading of underlying securities and providing feedback on execution quality.2. Market Analysis and Product Support: responsible to develop and present in-depth research reports, performance attribution analysis and market commentary to help best position funds to advisors, marketing and sales staff.3. Monitors fund's trading and spreads, responding to market executions, providing weekly portfolio attribution analysis, and assisting in the composition of quarterly board reports on performance and execution quality. 4. Respond to basket questions from fund operations, assisting operations in basket setup, and from time to time assisting operation in resolving evening and morning basket issues. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:A minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience in the financial services industry. Experience in Exchange Traded Funds would be beneficial.Should possess both strong written and public speaking skills. Candidate will require strong analytical skills to analyze and interpret various market data and apply such information to written reports and oral presentations. In-depth knowledge of the U.S. equity markets, prior trading experience, and the ability to provide market and fund attribution analysis are required. Ability to make quick decisions, establish priorities and concentrate on detailed information under stressful conditions.Education / Training:Knowledge of the principles and procedures of investment analysis, statistics, and economics as would be acquired through completion of a Master's degree in Business, Finance or related field is preferred.License / Registration / Certification:C.F.A. designation (or progress towards C.F.A. designation) is preferred, but not required.Working Conditions:Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, or temperature.
