Lead Technical Architect
The Cardless Payment Development team is responsible for providing thought leadership for strategy, innovation, architecture, and integration initiatives relating to contactless payment products. The incumbent will provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise for multiple innovation initiatives, focused on enhancing the overall customer experience, particularly to support cardless payment initiatives, applying existing and cutting-edge emerging technologies to deliver innovative solutions for business solutions. As the primary responsibility, the incumbent will work with portfolio technicians and business architects to lead innovation initiatives to: Constantly review emerging technologies, relevant to enhancing the customer experience, focused on cardless payment initiatives Develop and collaboratively review innovation ideas by applying existing and emerging technologies to CP business areas Independently take un-structured ideas and develop proof of concept applications to apply emerging technologies. Work with solution delivery organizations to take the Proof of Concepts (POCs) into implementations Collaborate with other key technology architects and leaders to constantly harvest innovation ideas; ensure alignment to the Enterprise Technology Roadmap, AET's Enterprise IT Strategy, and the Cardless Payment IT Strategy Leverage key technology partners technologies and resources to assist in delivering innovation solutions Creative with ability to combine multiple emerging technologies to provide innovative solutions Works with Software Architect(s) to formulate overall system architecture Contributes to the development of architecture documents, user manuals, knowledge share areas, and other technical documentation Provide assistance to the delivery team members with issues needing technical expertise or complex systems and/or programming knowledge Provides business consulting on new ideas and initiatives to drive decisions on viability of the innovation Applies for patents for all new innovations Researches and resolves issues; identifies creative solutions; successfully manages multiple, competing priorities Regular communication (verbal and written) with end-user business and technology customers in an effective and positive manner Drive plans for root cause analysis, technical specifications, best practices, system architecture, distributed technical strategy and longer term plans Working closely with business and technology partners to lead, facilitate and develop objectives based on results of Problem Management and RCA findings Facilitate meetings and status reporting across all levels. QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated hands-on experience and success in the design and development of distributed high performance, mission critical technology systems Breadth of technical knowledge across multiple technology areas Hands-on expertise in J2EE (and/or Microsoft .NET), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Web Services, XML, BPM, integration with relational databases and mainframe applications Demonstrated experience with one or more of the emerging technologies and frameworks: Mobile/wireless: J2ME, .NET Compact Framework, Mobile Web Applications Chip products RF and contactless Cryptology products (i.e. DKMS, IBM4764...) Presentation/visualization: Web 2.0, Wikis... Working experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies Demonstrated knowledge and experience in technology trends analysis and technology assessments, financial & IT industry standards and processes Excellent communication skills, verbal and written; strong research and analysis skills; Strong collaboration skills and demonstrates a consultative approach. Working knowledge of program/project management practices Demonstrated ability to: Drive results and resolve conflicts; Work with multiple matrix-based teams to delivery without direct line authority; Deal with ambiguity and make effective timely decisions Detailed knowledge of American Express Architecture components, tools, concepts, and best practices Knowledge of infrastructure administration, monitoring, provisioning in a production environment Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and effectively drive results Proven planning and organizational skills with an ability to translate and apply strategic principles to tactical solutions Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the Information Technology industry.
