The Legal Collection Manager supervises the Collectors and Skip tracers by monitoring their handling of accounts where in house legal collections is present. Handles training on FDCPA issues and monitoring collectors on proper handling of accounts. Implements policies and procedures of handling legal collections. Makes sure collection goals are attained within the legal collections guidelines

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

•Tracks legal collection in the Warren office.

•Trains and supervises collectors and skiptracers on procedures and FDCPA compliance

•Monitors collection calls and collector progress-- phone calls, follow-up, settlements that are set up.

•Monitors skiptracer progress – accounts worked, garnishments referred, and assets located.

•Handles attendance issues, disciplinary action and termination

•Creates and monitors budget for his/her department

•Prepares and reviews collector bonuses.

•Sets up breakdown of goals for each department

•Sets up monthly incentives to be reviewed by upper management

•Creates reports to analyze collection progress on individual purchases

•Sets up and implements plans to increase collections in areas needed

•Reviews and approves settlements up to 60%

•Motivates collectors to obtain monthly money goal and garn goal

•Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: To manage collection supervisors and collectors on proper handling of accounts.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have 2-5 years collections and skiptracing experience. They also must have 2+ years experience in management. The experience should consist of managing 20 or more employees and a plus would be also managing multiple locations.

Education and/or Experience:

•2-5 years collection experience

•1 year legal collection experience

•2 years management experience

•FDCPA training and understanding

Must be detail oriented. Must have ability to review and manage collection reports.
