Legal Services Manager - Global Funds Services

The Legal Services Manager will provide services with respect to legal matters associated with the provision of accounting, administration and distribution services to mutual funds and other registered investment companies by SEI.  The types of services provided by the Legal Department with respect to this business include:

 

· Responding to day-to-day legal or regulatory questions relating to the services provided to the funds

· Managing the board meeting process, which includes compilation of materials for meetings, communication with board and attendance at board meetings

· Reviewing and negotiating fund contracts

· Reviewing and coordinating filing of registration statements and supplements

· Reviewing shareholder communications

· Reviewing and coordinating the filing of proxy statements and coordinating shareholder meetings

· Assisting in product design, structure and extension

· Managing complex fund transactions and projects

· Managing outside counsel

 

The Legal Services Manager will be required to work in a team environment with other members of SEI’s legal team, as well as SEI Relationship/Service teams, outside counsel, fund clients, funds accounting, and other teams within SEI. 

 

The position provides the individual with a comprehensive understanding of registered investment companies and exposure to a broad array of issues within the Legal Department.  Success in this position can lead to other positions within the Legal Department or the company. 

 

The ideal candidate must have excellent relationship skills because coordinating and communicating with others is a major part of this position.  The ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously is also critical.  In addition, the individual must be organized, detail-oriented, possess strong verbal and writing skills and basic computer knowledge.  A basic understanding of mutual funds is required.

 

Required Experiences and Skills

· B.A. or equivalent. 

· Basic knowledge of, and experience with, mutual funds

· Strong organizational skills

· Effective writing skills

· Ability to work in a team environment

· Experience providing paralegal, compliance or regulatory support with respect to mutual funds preferred

 

Location and Travel

This position is located in Oaks, PA and minimal travel is required
