Position: Manager, Financial Reporting

Reports To: VP of Reporting and VP Forecast and Planning

Purpose:
This finance professional along with a small regional finance team will be responsible for all reporting for the North America region. NAR currently consists of business units in Canada and the U.S. and provides life, annuity and P&C products. This person will be liaising with the local executive team, business units and Aviva PLc Group in UK.

Key Accountabilities:
Working in a matrix environment responsible for both reporting and forecasting/planning to support the overall finance team objectives, specifically contributing to: Delivery of regional financial reporting, in particular life new business, monthly and quarterly management information and half-yearly external reporting. Ensuring high levels of data integrity and applying analytical techniques. Supporting as required cross team regional initiatives including. Investor relations and other financial communications. Merger and acquisition activity Capital management Implementation across region of financial controls e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley

Contributing to regional technical accounting and reporting developments to include International Financial Reporting Standards, US GAAP and embedded value reporting.

Supporting, developing and managing the work of other more junior team members.

Key Skills / Knowledge:
Working knowledge of international insurance accounting including IFRS and Embedded Value reporting.

Ability to build relationships in a multi-cultural and cross-border environment

Qualifications and Experience:
5-8 years in a financial services organization, specifically in the area of financial reporting and or forecasting and planning. Business degree in accounting or finance or equivalent CPA Experience of either life insurance or property & casualty Exposure to senior management stakeholders
