Manager, Logistics Initiatives

Aleris is seeking a Manager, Logistics Initiatives to join the team at our Corporate Offices in Beachwood, OH. The primary focus of this position is to meet or exceed established budgeted productivity targets.  This will primarily be accomplished through identifying, driving, and leading productivity initiatives in conjunction with the respective business unit. This role will also be responsible for tracking and communicating the commercial aspects of current projects to business unit and corporate financial leaders. 

 

Responsibilities Include:Work with the business units to stimulate thoughts and ideas, converting them to project statusDrive operational process improvements to smooth logistics operationsLead logistics and supply chain projectsSecure business unit support for corporate initiativesDraft project plans with timelines and progress trackingWork with business units to secure resourcesInterface with finance department to validate savings methodsDrive to completion identified goal of $4.7MM in savings for 2008Interfaces with business units to drive international initiativesPresent initiative project status to Aleris senior leadership at quarterly business reviewSupervision of at least one direct report

 

Requirements Include:Bachelor’s degree10 years minimum experience in Logistics or Supply Chain Management preferably with project management backgroundAbility to lead others in a matrix environmentHigh energy and data drivenExcellent working knowledge of Microsoft office and Project softwareProven ability to function with minimal supervision while also leading others toward project goalsExcellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skillsAbility to communicate at all levels of the business, develop and present findings, and make recommendations in small and large group settingsWillingness to travel approximately 50%
