Our professionals bring extensive experience in trading, treasury and investment management, operations, accounting, taxation, asset securitization, and management consulting to each assignment.    Energy Risk Assurance and Advisory Services ("ERAA") works with clients to provide in-depth commodity related accounting and risk expertise.  We provide services to leading energy utilities, merchant power companies, oil and gas producers, energy marketers, industrial companies with energy procurement or hedging programs, and financial service institutions located throughout the world.  We assist clients in resolving complex accounting matters, improving their abilities to measure and manage risks such as market, credit and operational risk, and enhancing the reliability of their systems and processes.   We help clients draw the necessary information from the capital markets, customers, regulators and other sources, analyze the information across risk classes, and report the information to client management to facilitate tactical and strategic decision making.  We are organized to meet the global needs of companies through our network of professionals located in the world's major energy centers.  Our professionals have in-depth knowledge and experience with the most challenging issues facing energy entities.  We are looking to expand our practice with the addition of talented, enthusiastic professionals with history of achievement and the ability to lead. - Play substantive/lead role in client relationship and communication - Strong oral and written communication skills - Play substantive/lead role in attaining quality internal (D&T) and external (client) communication/deliverables including technical content of reports, proposals, etc. - Demonstrate in-depth understanding of clients' business - Demonstrate strong knowledge of the various commodities markets including the energy and oil and gas markets or functional specialty - Play substantive/lead role in engagement planning, economics and billing - Deliver services that meet D&T engagement leader specifications - Participate in "add-on" sales to clients - Membership and visibility in professional & civic organizations - Participate in proposal development efforts - Evaluate, counsel, mentor and provide feedback on performance of others - Assist in recruitment and retention of professionals - Participate in training efforts - Play substantive role in enhancing relationships with D&T Audit and Tax professionals and supporting D&T Audit engagements with specialized accounting and industry knowledge Skills/Requirements: - 5 or more years in accounting, audit, or risk management consulting with particular emphasis in the commodities markets, such as energy (regulated or non-regulated), and oil and gas (exploration and production, refining, or petrochemicals).  A minimum of 3 years in public accounting is preferred. - Must have supervisory experience - Significant experience with drafting and editing technical accounting reports or memorandums, and presenting on technical accounting matters. - BA/BS in accounting or related field or MBA or MA/MS in finance or accounting related field - CPA preferred (non-CPA may be considered on an exceptional basis, must have a specific plan to obtain CPA) - Strong background in one or more of the following areas: Accounting and reporting issues for commodity-related transactions, such as EITF 02-03, SFAS 133 and other applicable accounting pronouncements Risk measurement and management Operation and internal controls, including work related to compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Transaction design and structuring with an understanding of the accounting implication for such structuring FAS 133 implementation services - Strong Project Management Skills and Experience - Ability to lead external marketing efforts - Willingness to travel  Ref:cm08About DeloitteDeloitte refers to one or more of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, a Swiss Verein, and its network of member firms, each of which is a legally separate and independent entity.
