Location: chicago, IL Employment Type: Full Time, Employee Pay Rate: USD 132,000.00 /year Manager of Software Development - Direct Hire  To help us continue driving our business forward, we’re in search of an experienced Manager of Software Development to work for our client in downtown Chicago – direct hire. Job Description-  Manager is looking for the right person; time is not a huge issue.-  Management skills are a focus, must have strong leadership/management skills.-  Previous Subject Selection experience.-  Must have experience with SOA, Service Oriented Architecture. The Leader of Subject Selection services will create a vision, knowledge competency and delivery team for creating and deploying enterprise services around normalizing and matching technologies to join data related to individual consumers.  The role will be accountable for all aspects of architecting, developing and deploying solutions through teams of technical and subject matter experts. Position Responsibilities:- Manage the design and build of re-usable business services, in the Subject Selection domain space, to be consumed by multiple applications across the enterprise- Manage small/medium size projects (or a workstream in large effort); define structure and manage to a predictable result- Work with multiple project teams ensuring Services will contribute to the end-state goals- Help develop and adjust long-range plans and implementation roadmaps based on business priorities- Immediately help with near-term projects underway helping establish initial business services- Manage the career development responsibilities of more junior professionals in both IT skill domains as well as business analyst skill domains- Analyze and assess current algorithms and logic as baseline for future enhancements or for new business opportunities- Supports internal and external customers by providing statistics and presenting recommendations. - Communicate clearly, timely, and in a professional and highly consistent manner, providing problem solutions and updates to peers, customers and management.  Experience Required:- 8 -10 years of IT experience in software development- 2 - 4 years of project management experience- Previous experience as a designer and developer of custom solutions- Previous experience with data analytics and inquiry matching algorithms- Exposure/experience with C, C++, Java, J2EE, XML, and SQL- Full software development lifecycle experience with specific experience in Java-based solutions- Ability to contribute to design reviews as well as present to senior management- Financial Services experience a plus- Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) experience - Bachelors degree in computer science or closely related field.
