MetLife, a leading provider of insurance and other financial services to individual and institutional customers, is seeking a Manager of Finance – Sales Compensation / Accounts Payable in Irvine, CA! The associate in this position will be responsible for managing the development and processing of the monthly variable compensation, marketing allowances and expense reimbursement payments. In addition, the ideal candidate will be responsible for developing the monthly management summary and various other reports. This position reports to the finance director and will be responsible for managing and developing a small staff. Major Duties and Functions Include: Oversee the monthly calculation and processing of variable compensation payments to 450 members of the sales organization and totaling $60m per year. Responsible for the development, calculation and processing of marketing allowance payments totaling $45m per year. Payments are based on contractual agreements with top producing firms. Responsible for compiling, developing and distributing various management reports detailing sales, expense and compensation information. Requires the ability to research and resolve discrepancies as well as analyze financial information to identify trends and make recommendations to senior management. Design and develop new metrics and other reports in response to changing needs for management and the sales organization. Manage small staff. What You Need to Succeed: 3 + years of experience processing complex sales compensation within a management capacity. 3 + years of compensation management experience within a financial services or insurance organization is highly desired. 3 + years of experience researching, analyzing, developing and distributing various management reports detailing sales, expense and compensation information. 2 + years of experience managing and developing direct reports General understanding of accounting principals Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with highly confidential information Strong analytical skills with detail-oriented focus Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage projects Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload for staff Ability to interact with associates at all levels within the organization Excellent research and presentation skills including: proficiency in spreadsheet and database analysis using the Company's business productivity applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, etc.) and/or mainframe/client server applications (expense system, human resources systems, sales reporting systems etc.). Expert level proficiency in Access and Excel BA/BS in Finance or Accounting or a relevant field is desired. Work shouldn’t be something you do just to make ends meet.
