Market Intelligence Analyst

The Role• To collect and present accurate, up-to-date market information that supports Omgeo’s current objectives and future opportunities. • To monitor trends and developments in the global securities industry that have current or future implications for Omgeo and provide thought leadership on those implications which will help to increase Omgeo associates’ understanding of the industry and Omgeo’s role in the industry. • To partner with and develop strong relationships with internal clients including Sales, Product Management and Global Marketing by providing them with global domain expertise in Omgeo’s target markets. • To work with outside analyst firms both as a source of information and insight as well as to promote Omgeo’s vision and current strategy. Responsibilities• Effectively partner with and develop strong relationships with internal clients including Sales, Product Management and Global Marketing to identify research needs and to support the functions when the need for data gathering arises. • Conduct hands-on research, analyze data and make recommendations to support Omgeo’s goals and objectives and communicate findings to key stakeholders as needed. • Execute planned and ad-hoc research projects via hands-on, in-house research as well as in partnership with external market research firms and/or contractors as appropriate. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams around the globe on an on-going basis to gain an in-depth understanding of unique business needs. • Work with external analyst firms to obtain data and insight and also to promote Omgeo’s vision and strategy (assist with regular briefings, suggest research topics, etc.) • Act as a team player, bringing strong interpersonal and collaborative skills along with the ability to prioritize work effectively and manage multiple simultaneous projects. Candidate should have a proven track record of working in cross-functional teams and building strong relationships. Qualifications• Bachelors degree or equivalent required • 5-10 years in research, investment management or broker/dealer operations • Excellent interpretive and analytical skills • Computer proficiency including advanced spreadsheet techniques and PowerPoint design • Strong knowledge of the trade-lifecycle and middle office operations • Knowledge of the financial technology vendor community, with a particular emphasis on knowledge of the vendors serving the middle office • Strong industry contacts • Knowledge of standard sources of securities industry data as well as the capability to find new sources and develop internal estimates • Knowledge of questionnaire/survey design and advanced data analysis techniques • Knowledge of Omgeo’s products and services is desirable • Ideal candidate would also have one or more of the following:  • Investment manager, broker/dealer or bank background  • Analyst or research position experience  • Experience with financial technology vendors • Light travel To apply for this position please click on the link below.  Omgeo Careers Omgeo is a joint venture company owned equally by The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) and Thomson Financial.
