Middle Office Senior Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will include risk management, daily trading PNL and analysis, trade capture, and systems management. The candidate will be responsible for all middle office support functions for the energy derivatives middle office specifically related to the physical side of the business. The primary products will be crude oil and natural gas products as well as any new products traded as the business unit grows. The primary responsibility will be to report end of day PNL, manage any new trades on a daily basis, build any needed infrastructure required to support a growing desk, end of day curve building, and getting involved with projects. The candidate must be able to effectively communicate with staff on the trading floor, Operations, Technology, Finance, and other parts of the bank. REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge and experience with physical energy products is absolutely required and experience with Natural Gas physical transactions is preferred. A 4-year college degree is required. The candidate should be goal-oriented with existing middle office derivatives experience or similar experience from an accounting or product control background. This position will require Excel and Access skills to a level that ideally includes formulas, macros, pivot tables, queries and reporting; and the ability to troubleshoot complex spreadsheets or data tables whenever they fail to perform. Strong candidates will posses superior communication skills and problem solving skills. They will also be analytical-proficient with numbers and mathematical concepts, meticulous regarding all details and capable of developing conclusions from data in spreadsheets or reports.
