.NET Developer/DBA

This position will be responsible for developing and supporting custom .NET applications, and for the implementation, configuration, troubleshooting, and testing of related SQL Server databases. The ideal candidate would have strong experience with ASP.NET programming (C#, VB), experience with T-SQL programming in SQL Server 2000-2005, and enjoys working on a variety of different types of projects. The candidate would also have an understanding of Windows Server 2003 and IIS 6.0 and experience with or a desire to learn about the finance industry.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain custom applications (i.e. administration tools, information portals) as needed Database administration for SQL Server 2005 including backup configuration, space management, performance tuning, database migration and upgrades Supporting COTS (Commerical off-the-shelf) software Creating stored procedures & triggers Monitoring growth of database and proactively recommend solutions for correcting or enhancing scalability Monitoring of external data feeds and related processes IIS configuration and troubleshooting Work with hosting and support partners to log and resolve issues Managing releases and upgrades via the Development/QA/Production cycle including procedures and documentation Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Five years working with .NET (C# and VB) Two years experience working with SQL Server 2005 Experience with Microsoft Reporting Services a plus Experience with Sharepoint 2003 and/or 2007 a plus 3- 5 years experience working in regulated industry (Banking, Trading, Finance) a plus Experience with disaster recovery planning Ability to analyze system configuration settings, parameters, and data in order to troubleshoot system issues a plus Ability to create and tune complex SQL and TSQL a plus Experience with reporting tools Knowledge of Oracle and Unix including shell scripting is a plus, but not required Ability to communicate with both technical and functional audiences Excellent verbal and written communication skills
