LONG ISLAND BASED FINANCIAL FIRM IS LOOKING FOR A NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR TO JOIN THEIR
Administration team is searching for a senior network engineer
Applicants should be team players with a broad background in network
technologies, experienced in enterprise operations, and have excellent
troubleshooting skills.
Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to: designing, deploying,
supporting and troubleshooting the network and security infrastructure;
documenting the network and security infrastructure, policies and procedures;
identifying, researching, and evaluating emerging network and security products
and technologies. Applicants are expected also to participate in after-hours work
and an on-call rotation.
Required Skills:
?
Experience designing, deploying and supporting scalable routed and
switched networks, and security infrastructure.
?
Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise-class routers, switches,
firewalls including cisco and non-cisco equipment.
?
Thorough understanding of network and routing protocols (TCP/IP, DNS,
DHCP, OSPF and BGP).
?
Excellent troubleshooting and creative problem-solving abilities, including
packet-level traffic analysis.
?
Experience implementing network and security monitoring and
management and related open source tools on UNIX/Linux platforms (mrtg,
nagios, snort, flowscan, syslog-ng).
?
In-depth understanding of network security, including hands-on experience
with firewalls, proxies, IDSs and VPNs.
?
Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
?
Bachelor's degree required.
Preferred Skills:
?
Experience administering Solaris, Linux or Windows systems in a
corporate environment.
?
Experience deploying and supporting open source and proprietary
infrastructure services (BIND, Sendmail, Postfix, FreeRadius, OpenLDAP,
ISC DHCP, NFS, OpenAFS, heimdal Kerberos, Cyrus IMAP, OpenSSL)
?
Experience with WAN circuits and telecom circuit provisioning (SONET,
DWDM, Frame-Relay, DS1, DS3).
?
Knowledge of scripting (perl, tcl, ksh) to automate tasks.
?
Experience with Multicast networking.
