Operations Analyst--Investment Management

We are building a team of 3-4 Analysts to support a new initiative at an investment management market leader!  4 months of contract before conversion to perm.

REQUIRED:  Operations or business analyst background in the investment management industry.  Specifically, Middle or back office experience.  Key is experience in one of the following areas (more the better):  Investment Operations, Custody, Portfolio Accounting, Fund Accounting, Fund Administration, Performance.  You will provide consulting services to 3 main groups:  internal groups, key strategic clients, and prospects.  You need to be able to produce operational flows, functional/technical models, provide recommendations for change, etc.


The ideal analyst would be someone with the following background:
 
· Detailed understanding of mutual funds, specifically looking for folks with mutual fund accounting backgrounds; the more complex the types of funds you have worked with the better – fixed income, international, emerging market, derivatives, etc. 

· Ability to work with a sense of urgency as both an individual contributor and as part of team; be able to work independently without much supervision at times; need to be able to think on your feet; demonstrate confidence without arrogance.

· Communication skills are extremely important – both verbal and written; having poise and presence in all situations – with peers, colleagues and senior management – both internally and at the client – is also a required quality.
