Functions

·  Performance Measurement:  The Performance Measurement Analyst calculates performance, approves and posts returns.  This involves pricing domestic and global portfolios/composites holding a variety of stand alone accounts that may hold developed and emerging market equities, foreign and domestic bonds, cash equivalents such as commercial paper and T-Bills, and derivatives.  The Analyst will need to ensure performance results comply with internal standards and CFA Institute guidelines.

·  Prepare standard and customized performance documentation:  The Performance Measurement Analyst ensures the accuracy of each client’s automated performance report and assembles and completes customized workbooks and reports, along with ad-hoc requests and presentations.

·  Performance Attribution analysis:  The Performance Measurement Analyst gathers prices from external and internal sources to support the Portfolio Managers’ attribution analysis process.

·  Performance Measurement system:  The Performance Measurement Analyst will assist in the review, implementation and testing of a new performance system.  This will include composite maintenance and reconciling historical return calculations. 

 

Minimum experience, skills, certification and academic background necessary to perform the position: 

·  BA/BS degree

·  CFA candidate

·  Two plus years in the investment industry

·  Experience with spreadsheets, macros and performance measurement/attribution systems

·  Experience downloading and manipulating data from financial databases

·  Thorough knowledge financial markets, investment vehicles and strategies

·  Aptitude for quantitative analysis/problem solving

·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·  Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and strong work ethic

Beta Management is a new unit within BNY Mellon Asset Management that will offer strategic overlays and cash equitization.  Beta Management is seeking a Performance Measurement Analyst who will be involved in calculating performance for domestic and global strategies.  Effective performance measurement will require a thorough understanding of valuation methodologies and investment guidelines/objectives.  This position requires heavy interaction with customer service associates/portfolio management/trading staff as well as Beta Management accountants located in Pittsburgh.  The Performance Measurement Analyst is responsible for satisfying various Client and Marketing requests.
