Portfolio Manager/Asset Allocation

Job Function:

The primary function of this position is to manage the assets of assigned accounts given the Company’s asset allocation approach, which utilizes external investment managers. The position works closely with other client contact professionals to develop and maintain a strong working relationship between colleagues and clients to ensure clients’ goals and needs are being met. The Company prides itself on its team oriented non-hierarchy work environment.

 



Duties & Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management – Qualified candidate will be responsible for all aspects of account management for agency, personal and retirement benefit trusts, foundation, endowment, and other investment advisory relationships by adhering to established investment objectives and policies.  Duties will include overseeing, evaluating and monitoring the asset allocation process and strategies on a daily basis.

 

Communication – Provide client communication through written and verbal, including in person account review meetings.  Candidate will have sound knowledge of economic and market events and convey how such conditions affect portfolio performance.

 

Portfolio Strategy – Candidate will be part of the Investment Committee and play a key role in monitoring and developing the Company’s investment strategy.  Further responsibilities include conveying strategy changes to client contact personnel, as well as directly to clients.

 

Business Development – this position will represent investment division in new business opportunities by working with business development staff and personal trust administrators to develop proposals and participate in presentations.



Qualifications/Experience:5 years of experience in the financial services industry, preferable portfolio management, asset allocation strategies, and/or client contact responsibilities.  CFA and/or MBA preferred or enrollment in CFA program.  Equivalent experience will be considered.  Strong understanding of capital markets and economics is required.  Advanced interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, integrity and written and oral communication/presentation skills.
