PIMCO Pricing is primarily responsible for oversight of security valuation of PIMCO’s mutual funds and private trusts advised and administered by PIMCO.  The group works closely with third-party vendors (fund accountants/administrators, custodians, auditors and security pricing vendors) that provide services to the funds/trusts. Departmental tasks include reporting to PIMCO’s trade floor, Pricing Committee and Board members, monitor of significant events, and pricing vendor oversight.  The group handles daily issues involving multiple departments, internal systems, and external service providers across many time zones.



 

ResponsibilitiesInteract with the pricing vendors in order to price additional securities PIMCO ownsCommunicate daily inquiries to appropriate internal departmentsManage various projects related to process improvements, procedures and systems developmentMaintains current knowledge of domestic and foreign securities markets and monitors effects on funds and pricing and valuation proceduresDevelop reports for PIMCO funds, the Boards, Legal, and Portfolio Management



RequirementsAccuracy and attention to detail: This position deals with large amounts of risk on a daily basisStrong computer skills (particularly in Excel) and the ability to learn multiple proprietary computer systems including BloombergAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingAbility to think quickly in a fast-paced environmentAbility to multi-task and deliver under tight deadlinesLearn on the job by shadowing senior team members and asking effective questions



QualificationsMutual fund operations or broker/dealer back-office experience4-year college degreeExperience with security valuation a plus
