Securities are managed, researched, bought and sold for the funds by a staff of portfolio managers, analysts and traders.  Technology Support & Operations (TSO) delivers the highest possible availability, reliability and operational excellence for all of FMR's global and domestic systems operations and networks.  TSO currently supports and maintains a state-of-the-art network that is the backbone of the FMR computing infrastructure.  Infrastructure support for the operating environment extends to batch cycle operations and 24x7 infrastructure monitoring.  Through this work, we support nearly 2,00 end users.  This is an incredible opportunity to work for the world leader in the mutual fund industry.  Our company prides itself on honesty and integrity.Position Description: TSO is looking to enhance its Multi-Media team with a principal engineer who exhibits a customer oriented focus and the ability to help us design and sustain a reliable leading edge Multi-Media environment.  The qualified candidate will be providing administration, hands-on operational support, design, engineering and consultation on Fidelity’s global Multi-Media environment.  Day to day responsibilities and new project implementations await the motivated self starter who possesses a successful track record of Video Conferencing expertise in the areas of architecture, design and operational support.  Participation in on-call rotation is required.  Hours of coverage are generally 9:30AM-9:30PM with overnight support provided by an off shore extension of the team. This position can be located in either Merrimack, NH or Boston, MA Primary Responsibilities: Provides vendor management, project management and technical consulting for the multi-media and wireless environments  Defines, designs, and architects the end to end implementation of multi-media applications into the FMR environment.  Develops long and short term strategies as well as tactical and strategic planning as it relates to the applications under his/her responsibility.  Reviews results and meets with vendors and managers to discuss methods of improving availability of existing systems.  Performs platform change management (infrastructure and application).  Tests, monitors and evaluates new infrastructure.  Assists with hands-on quality assurance testing and interfacing with clients in-person.Education and Experience: Undergraduate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience 5-10 years of proven video conference experience with any well known vendor platforms. Experience with network and video conferencing design, implementation and support in an enterprise environment is expected.Skills and Knowledge:Candidates will be asked to demonstrate in-depth knowledge and technical problem solving skills as they pertain to the technologies listed below: IP Video Conferencing (IPVC) Gatekeepers and Bridges (MCU) Working knowledge of H.323 and H.320 networks.
