Procurement Specialist Job DescriptionTakes on special projects and commodity expertise and RFx ((x) = Request for Quote, Information, Pricing or Project) development and execution with the appropriate business unit, providing the pricing and related information to the requestor/business unit.Authorizing and validating the appropriate dollar by level by the incumbent to generate and administer a purchase order. Manages the on-line catalog with the appropriate business unit to reflect the most update products, services, pricing and SLA (Service Level Agreement) available tied to assure the appropriate approval for spend is maintained per the business rule requirements. Supporting main commodities and specific vendors as appropriate. Recognize difficult situations and works to manage potential conflict &Builds consensus among team members.Participates in the final decisions determining critical processes from a scope perspective conducting meetings not limited to the development analytical data and metrics are required to their commodity and/or supplier to assure customer support and business objectives.Communicates with users and the appropriate business units on procurement requirements. Writes and administer the specifications as required.  Follows up as necessary to ensure contractual adherence and user satisfaction to contracts and business processes and requirements.

 


Essential Procurement Specialist Skills & Characteristics5 to 8 years of related experience to procurement and/or project management and minimum of 2 years in related systems analysis, document or production support service environment. C.P.M is preferredAPICS is preferredBA degree is preferred
